Sp!ts

Sp!ts has grown from a 'run-of-the-mill ANP newspaper' (one of the most stubborn stereotypes to eradicate) into a fully-fledged news provider, capable of competing with the media heavyweights of The Netherlands. Every newspaper needs an heart and a soul. By focusing exclusively on 'News & Entertainment', our editors manage to fill over 65% of the newspaper with unique, fresh content.

This fact has not passed unnoticed as can be witnessed from daily news coverage: not a day goes by that Sp!ts isn't quoted in other, prominent media outlets. Sp!ts is regularly mentioned on 'Met het oog op morgen'(Radio1), BNR, the breakfast news of NOS and RTL and national newspapers.

Not to mention the dozens of sites that monitor our every move and use our stories and articles to flesh out the content of their own media platforms.

In short: Sp!ts is a media player to be reckoned with. Sp!ts has gained a social relevance in Dutch society. Needless to say, we wholeheartedly relish this public recognition. We are even more delighted by the fact that we continue to attract a daily readership of 1.6 million, despite the fast-growing free newspaper industry.

This recognition is underpinned by a recent readership survey: Sp!ts is seen more relevant, more up-to-date, more fun, more innovative, more varied, more relaxed and more ''young at heart'' than any other free paper.

Sp!ts is published by Telegraaf Media Nederland | National Media B.V. Since 21 June 1999, the average daily Sp!ts circulation has grown steadily to almost 400,000 copies. Sp!ts circulation figures are officially monitored by HOI.
